The Surrounding Area
Close by is the La Manga del Mar Menor which is a narrow strip of land that separates the Mediterranean from the Mar Menor (Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon). This is over 22km long and stretches from the fishing village of Cabo de Palos and the salt flats of San Pedro del Pinatar.
With beaches fronting both the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor, the region is ideal for waterspouts and numerous sailing centres offer lessons in windsurfing, waterskiing and sailing.
